VNB assisted the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) company implement the 9-Box report to help Identify High Potential Employees, Support Succession Planning, Improve Talent, and Performance Management based on data collected through performance reviews, succession planning tool, 360-Degree feedbacks, and HR Information Systems.
Customer is a leading provider of electronic design automation (EDA) software and IP. Their tools are used by semiconductor and system companies to design and verify complex chips and systems. Customer’s solutions help improve productivity, reduce design time, and ensure high-quality designs for a wide range of applications, from mobile devices to autonomous vehicles.
For the client, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of data was a major challenge. The data used to create the 9-Box report had to be reliable and error-free. This required validating and verifying the data from multiple sources, such as performance reviews, talent management systems, and succession planning tools. Any inaccuracies in the data could result in incorrect employee evaluations and ultimately misaligned talent management strategies. Also, the 9-Box report often relies on subjective assessments of employee performance and potential. The client had to account for subjectivity in performance and potential assessments, which can introduce bias and variability in the ratings. The manual creation of the report would have required additional effort to ensure consistency and fairness in employee evaluations. The manual report creation process required significant knowledge and experience in talent management practices.
The 9-Box created by VNB using Power BI allowed the client to generate interactive and dynamic reports that can be accessed and shared easily. Power BI provided a unified data model that could integrate data from multiple sources and automatically update the report with the latest data. The tool also provided a range of visualization options that allowed the client to present the data in a clear and compelling way. Additionally, Power BI allowed the client to customize the report according to their specific needs and preferences. It provided the client with drill-through options to view the detailed employee data. The tool allowed the client to navigate through the different levels of the report, from the high-level overview to the detailed data points. This allowed the client to identify and analyze specific trends and patterns in the data, which can inform their talent management strategies. The tool also facilitated the inclusion of User Profile pics while viewing the details, making it easier to identify employees in the report and view their performance and potential assessments in context with their profile pictures.
VNB’s BI team conducted a thorough review of the customer’s data landscape and proposed a data gateway architecture to handle the multiple data sources such as SAP data sources, Legacy Oracle DW, and SQL server.VIEW DETAILS
